Maidstone Repair Cafe

We Repair

The Maidstone Repair Café is a monthly community event where people bring broken household items to be repaired with help from skilled volunteers. It’s a friendly space to save things from landfill, learn new skills, and meet people who care about sustainability.

The repair cafe is free to enter but voluntary contributions are welcomed for any repairs.

What We Repair

At the Repair Café you can bring a wide range of everyday items, including:

  • Small electricals and gadgets
  • Bicycles and bicycle maintenance
  • Jewellery and craft items
  • Clothing and textiles
  • Furniture and wooden objects
  • Computers, IT equipment and toys
    …and more!

Our team of volunteer repairers includes people with a variety of specialist skills — from sewing and electronics to woodworking and general fixes — all ready to help you give your items a new life.

Come Along — No Booking Needed

There’s no need to book ahead — just turn up on the day! The event is free to enter, and while repairs are offered without charge, voluntary contributions are welcomed to help cover running costs.

Refreshments are available on site, so you can enjoy a coffee or a snack while your item is looked at.

More Than Just Repairs

The Repair Café is part of a wider environmental and community initiative. It runs alongside our Maidstone CAN Zone, a themed showcase of local health, climate and nature projects. Together, these create a lively, educational and welcoming space where you can explore ideas, meet local groups, and take practical steps toward sustainability.

By repairing rather than replacing, we help reduce waste, lower carbon emissions, and encourage a circular mindset that values reuse and community collaboration.

When & Where

The Repair Café normally takes place on the first Saturday of most months, at the Market Hall, Lockmeadow, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
